Ziel der Neugestaltung des Eingangsbereichs im Haus der Geschichte Österreich war es, die Besucherströme auf der Empfangsebene klar zu leiten und gleichzeitig das Arbeitsumfeld und dessen thermische Bedingungen zu verbessern. Die Hauptkassa ist nun für Besucher*innen und Mitarbeiter*innen barrierefrei nutzbar.
open/close Raumbildende Vorhänge umschließen die Hauptkassa bei Bedarf. Gemeinsam mit dem schwebenden Baldachin, der Einbeziehung der historischen Heizkörpernische sowie ergänzender Inratrotpaneele tragen diese Maßnahmen zum individuell temperierbaren „Kleinklima“ des Arbeitsplatzes bei. Das Farb-, Material- und Beleuchtungskonzept referenziert den historischen Kontext einerseits, und Elemente des Hauses der Geschichte Österreich andererseits.
The goal of the redesign of the entrance area at the House of Austrian History was to clearly guide visitor flows on the reception level while also improving the working environment and its thermal conditions. The main ticket counter is now barrier-free, ensuring accessibility for both visitors and staff.
open/close Space-defining curtains can enclose the main ticket counter when needed. Together with the floating canopy, the integration of the historic radiator niche, and additional infrared panels, these measures contribute to a workspace with an individually adjustable „microclimate.“ The color, material, and lighting concept references both the historical context and elements of the House of Austrian History.
